Lauda, Giesù nostro riscatto. St Francis encouraged his followers to sing simple songs in the vernacular, which were given the name ‘lauda’. They were not intended to be sung in church or, on the whole, by professional musicians. At first they consisted of a single melody line, but later they were commonly written for three voices, mostly moving together. Recorded in 2012.
