Hugh Sturmy, Exultet in hac die. This is virtually the only surviving work by the talented Sturmy (with tenor part by Nick Sandon). A motet in honour of St Augustine of Canterbury, imbued with a joyfulness verging on euphoria. One section serves as a kind of refrain, being heard three times; it translates as ‘Let the people of England sing Alleluia’. Recorded in 2001.
